Decemberists, Menomena at the Edgefield

While McMenamins Edgefield has not officially added Menomena to their web site, Menomena’s MySpace page indicates that they will be sharing the bill with the Decemberists on July 22nd.

Menomena has had an amazing year since the release of their new CD friend and foe. The band was in New York earlier this month and perfomed in Jaun’s Basement for Plum TV in Brooklyn, NY.

The band Richmond Fountaine is featured in the new issue of Harp Magazine. The group is touring Europe throughout May but will return to Portland’s Doug Fir Lounge on June 23rd for a hometown CD release show celebrating their new album Thirteen Cities. Portland’s very own Blitzen Trapper are going to have a summer of fun for sure. They are appearing at this year’s Sasquatch Festival at the Gorge, WA, after that they hit the road with The Hold Steady but first they get to be guest editors over at Paperthinwalls.com.

Portland’s own variety show Live Wire! will be taping it’s next radio broadcast at the Aladdin Theater this Friday May 18th. This episode’s lineup includes two Portland based acts, Dolorean and Ashleigh Flynn. Dolorean will be performing songs from their latest relase You Can’t Win and Ashleigh Flynn will be backed by an all-star band featuring Chis Funk from the Decemberists and studio drummer extraordinaire Gregg Williams.

The show will also feature a converstation between punk icon Dave Allen and CDBaby founder Derek Sivers about changing the face of music.
