After sold-out performances in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles, the film event of the year is coming to Portland! Brand Upon The Brain! will be performed with a live orchestra, Foley sound effects team and special guest narrators, including musician Stephen Malkmus, Calvin Johnson and the incomparable Karen Black. Surreal, satiric and surprisingly touching, Brand Upon The Brain! looks at the secret lives of families in a work that is equal parts childhood reminiscence, Expressionist horror movie, and teen detective serial.
