Portland’s Tender Loving Empire
One would be hard pressed to find anything that embodies Portland’s punk rock ethic more then Tender Loving Empire. They hand make their own cd’s, posters, and shirts. They have an adorable store stocked full of fantastical one-of-a-kind creations of several crafty disciplines. Plus, in an era where most Portland labels are downsizing release schedules and signing less bands, TLE is filling out it’s roster and going forth with a simple plan of high quality art in smaller batches. They even had a monstrous hand made pinata for their birthday bash at Portland’s Berbati’s.

wow… this store sounds incredible. i can’t think of a place like this here in Seattle. I’ll be in portland this weekend. I’ll have to try to check this place out!
