Vinyl returns to Fred Meyer

In this story from the Oregonian this morning, it appears that grocery chain, Fred Meyer, has accidently discovered the joy of vinyl and the passion that people show for a good record. The accident, according to the story, came when an employee at the store accidently ordered a R.E.M. vinyl record instead of the CD he should have been ordering. The vinyl arrived in the warehouse and was shipped off to the stores and lo and behold they started selling. Of course DJs and vinyl purists have kept sales alive for years and indie music stores such as Music Millennium have had great success selling vinyl, but it’s good to see vinyl back in the mainstream stores.
